Teacher Professional Development Workshops
Summer 2026
Creative Inquiry: Art, Science & Tinkering
We are offering a three-day workshop introducing how to create Reggio Emilia–inspired curriculum through the arts, sciences, and tinkering. Participants will learn by doing, with time to tinker and create in both the art studio and outdoor tinkering spaces. You’ll leave with practical ideas for your classroom, including setting up a maker space, and confidence using new materials.
Cost: $600
Duration: 3 Days
Date: June 24-26
Timing: 9 am to 3 pm
Storytelling Through Art
Explore new ways to infuse art into the classroom while gaining experience and comfort with different art materials! Visual art media are some of the “hundred languages” described in Reggio Emilia-inspired education. Through art instruction, children learn how to communicate their stories as they gain proficiency with a variety of materials. Workshop participants will explore their own creativity as they respond to open-ended prompts and provocations, experiment with different materials, and ultimately collaborate on a group art project to create a collective story. The workshop will explore how to expand children’s narratives and document student work, emphasizing process over product.
Cost: $600
Duration: 3 Days
Date: July 8-10
Timing: 9 am to 3 pm
Storytelling Through Art - Level 2
We welcome back workshop attendees from last summer’s Storytelling Through Art training to a one-day session to revisit, reflect, and reconnect. This workshop introduces new art materials and practices. We’ll share projects from the 2025–26 school year, explore using polymer clay with students, and provide time for your own art-making. Bring your ideas and join us in learning by doing.
Cost: $200
Duration: 1 Day
Date: June 17
Timing: 9 am to 3 pm
Teacher as Researcher: Designing Inquiry-Driven Learning
This workshop centers on developing teachers’ skills as researchers in an elementary inquiry classroom. Participants will deepen their ability to observe, document, and analyze student learning, using research to inform instructional decisions and curriculum design. Through close observation, hands-on mini inquiry projects, and guided reflection on classroom practice, teachers will learn how adopting a teacher-as-researcher stance supports student inquiry, generates new insights, and leads to more intentional, responsive teaching.
Cost: $600
Duration: 3 Days
Date: June 15-17
Timing: 9 am to 3 pm
