There are three teachers of children: adults, other children, and their physical environment.
— Loris Malaguzzi

Ventana believes that the teaching space plays a foundational role in the process of making learning meaningful. A teaching space that is set up optimally will facilitate and empower children as they navigate the exploration of things that interest them. Children are seen as collaborators in their education and thus it is vital to create an environment that stimulates, provokes, and facilitates their learning.

We have been incredibly fortunate to work with a modular company that can adjust the design of the rooms to meet the aesthetics of Ventana. The new classrooms have beautiful natural light and are dynamic spaces suited to both collaborative and independent work. In addition to the new classrooms, we’re also adding two single-occupancy bathrooms (much to the delight of our lower office staff) and two beautiful courtyards that will transform the entrance of our school.

With the addition of two new classrooms, our school will have the capacity for full classes at every grade level, from preschool to 5th grade. This enables us to welcome 25 more students each year and ensure that every class enjoys its own dedicated learning space.
